Fake job advertisements occur in several different scenarios, e.g. to steal your personal data and to trick you into paying for a credit check or a work permit and for money laundering purposes. Fraudsters can also steal your identity, in the worst case scenario.

Young people all over Europe are lured by fake job ads and offers of quick money and big profits to open accounts to become money mules, or to let someone else have access to their existing accounts.

Lending out your bank or Swish account in order to move money can be criminal.

Don't do it!

To knowingly or unknowingly participate in money laundering by acting as a goalkeeper for criminals is punishable. A goalkeeper or money mule is the one who is visible and who takes on the risk when criminals want to hide who they are and their financial activities, and it is often the money mule who is held accountable for the crimes committed.
