What will happen with Maker (MKR) on Safello?

Trading in Maker (MKR) will be ending on Safello.

When will MKR trading stop?

  • September 12th: Deposits and purchases of MKR will be disabled.

  • October 6th: Selling MKR to a bank account will be disabled.

Any open orders in the MKR orderbook that have not been filled will be cancelled on this date.

After October 6th MKR will no longer be available for trading on Safello.

Can I withdraw my MKR after trading has ended?

Yes. You will still be able to withdraw MKR from Safello to your own wallet on the blockchain even after trading has stopped.

Why is this happening?

The Maker protocol has decided to migrate MKR to a new token called SKY. This is a global change that applies to all MKR holders.

How can I migrate my MKR to SKY?

If you want to upgrade your MKR, you need to do so yourself through the official Maker portal:

The portal includes a step-by-step guide. Note that you will need a non-custodial wallet compatible with the portal to complete the process.

Are there deadlines for the migration?

Yes. Maker has introduced deadlines, and if you wait too long the amount of SKY you receive will decrease. You can find more information on the official portal.

Can Safello help me with the migration?

No. Safello will not migrate your tokens on your behalf and cannot provide support with the process. If you have questions, please refer to Maker protocol’s official communication channels.
